What the state requires

NO standalone state personal finance/financial literacy graduation requirement. Rule 2120.8 says a student graduates by demonstrating PROFICIENCY in the Rule 2120.6 curriculum content areas (ELA, math, science, global citizenship, health/PE, arts, transferable skills) - financial literacy is NOT named among them. AOE nonetheless states that because the State Board adopted personal finance standards, 'it is expected that the Supervisory Union/Supervisory District (SU/SD) instruct and assess financial literacy concepts based on the standards; how that is accomplished is locally determined.'
