YES, in two phases. NRS 389.074 requires financial literacy INSTRUCTION for all pupils in grades 3-12 today; NRS 389.018 (as amended, OPERATIVE JULY 1, 2028) additionally requires high school pupils to earn one-half unit of credit in 'economics and financial literacy' as part of the 3 units of social studies.

Graduating class of 2029. NDE publishes separate diploma requirement charts: 'Classes of 2025-2028' shows 'Economics 0.5'; 'Class of 2029 and Beyond' shows 'Economics and Financial Literacy 0.5'. 2028-29 school year. AB 274 Sections 1, 1.5 and 2 become effective upon passage and approval for regulations/preparatory tasks and on JULY 1, 2028 for all other purposes.
