Florida

One-half credit in personal financial literacy and money management is required for the 24-credit standard diploma, the 18-credit CTE pathway, and the 18-credit ACCEL option (Fla. Stat. §1003.4282(3)(h)).

Students entering grade 9 in the 2023–24 school year and later. "Class of 2027" is a four-year derivation — the statute defines the cohort by entering-9th-grade year and FLDOE publishes no graduating-class label.

In force — first bound the class of 2027.

How it may be delivered
EITHER, but a CODED COURSE must be taken — this is not an embed-anywhere standards mandate. Routes: (a) standalone 0.5-credit course (2102371/2102373, CCD graduation code PL); (b) combined course satisfying BOTH economics and personal financial literacy (2102300/2102305, code FE); (c) CTE course 8815120 Personal Finance. Economics was NOT repealed — §1003.4282(3)(d) still requires 0.5 credit economics within the 3 social studies credits.

Credit value
one-half credit — carved out of electives, not additive: §1003.4282(3)(g) reduces electives from 8 to 7.5 (standard diploma); CTE pathway 2 to 1.5; ACCEL 3 to 2.5

Below high school
No middle or elementary COURSE requirement (§1003.4156 contains none). But §1003.41 requires K-12 social studies standards to include financial literacy, and the adopted standards carry an ELEMENTARY strand at grade 4 (SS.4.FL.1-6). An optional middle-school course exists: 2104060 M/J Introduction to Personal Financial Literacy. No promotion gate.

State-mandated assessment
NONE. Florida's statewide EOCs are B.E.S.T. Algebra 1 and Geometry, Biology 1, U.S. History, and Civics — no state test for personal financial literacy or economics, and §1003.4282 imposes no assessment condition.

The district awards the credit — no platform can. Ours is designed to align with the state’s learning standards, and it produces the documentation a district needs to award credit: the course object with its federal course code, a pass determination that shows its arithmetic, an hour ledger that counts only observed instructional minutes, and a verified record of demonstrated mastery for every student.
